Part of the park is under a private party control for long

Karachiís Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park will be renovated and opened for the public by the next month, Sindh Minister for local government Saeed Ghani said on Wednesday.
The restoration plan of the park includes additions which will attract more public, he revealed during a visit to the park.
The park which was being looked after the City Government was later handed over to the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) which failed to maintain it as the city government staff was pulled back.
Now Ghani said the park would be renovated and restored under KDA authority and be restored within a month.
The park is on the creek which is polluted and thus requires cleanliness measures which the minister stressed upon during his visit. Also, a part of the park had been given in the control of a private party which the KDA officers allege damaged the park. Now the party will pay the damages after vacating the space within two months.
Ghani said the KDA had never requested for the funds for park ask as there was no dearth of money for this purpose. His attention was shifted to the park after media reports about its bad condition.
