Sindh government has signed a summary of extension in special powers to Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Tuesday.

The summary was signed by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah extending special police powers to Rangers for 90 days in Karachi, effective from January 6 until April 5.

The paramilitary force has been playing its effective role in curbing heinous crime in the metropolis. Earlier in the day, Rangers and police launched a joint operation at the mobile market near Sakhi Hassan.

According to sources, the joint operation was conducted on intelligence reports. There were reports of the sale of stolen and snatched mobile devices in the market, sources said. Large contingents of rangers and police were deployed at the roads leading to the market. Police officers including Station House Officer Taimuriya police station were also present at the place.
