ICMD, Dec 8, 2019:

Opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi said on Sunday that Islamabad could impose governor’s rule in the Sindh province if required.

Speaking a private channel’s program Mr. Naqvi said if a situation warranted the imposition of governor’s rule in the province, the PTI government would surely do it.

The opposition leader asked whether the governor’s rule was never imposed in the history of Pakistan. He said why the option had been given in the Constitution if imposing governor’s rule was unconstitutional.

However, he said, the government would need approval from both houses of the parliament if such a rule was extended over two months.

Mr. Navi said there was a developing forward block in PPP and they {PTI} would support it.

The opposition leader targeted Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah who according to him was the most corrupt saying they would not allow him to escape. “It is his turn now”, he said.
