The family of Agha Siraj Durrani, the Speaker of Sindh Assembly has fled to the US, claimed a Sindhi news portal in Karachi saying a former federal minister of PPP received them at the airport.

Mr. Agha is under arrest in a corruption case pertaining to wealth beyond his known sources of income.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is investigating the case. Mr. Agha has been presiding over the Assembly session on a production order of the house.

The report said Mr. Agha’s wife Naheed, son, daughter in law and daughters, Sara and Shahana left the country through a private airline from Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.

A Sindh minister and a former MNA of the party saw them off at the airport. The whole family arrived in the US where another yet another former federal minister of the party was present to receive them.

The NAB has summoned Mr. Agha’s family members as the investigators had recovered gold and other valuables from their bank lockers.
